Europe Beyond Access introduces SAND-R
Sander Verbeek (SAND-R) is a contemporary dancer supported by Holland Dance Festival in The Netherlands, as well as being an Apprentice Dancer with Stopgap Dance Company in the UK.
From 2017 to 2018, he took part in the esteemed programme i-Dance, enabling collaborations with Onassis Stegi (Greece) and Skånes Dansteater (Sweden). In 2018 and 2019, he was one of the selected artists to take part in Europe Beyond Access laboratories in Malmo and Maastricht. Momentum
In 2019 SAND-R collaborated with SALLY Dansgezelschap Maastricht and Holland Dance Festival to perform Momentum and tour through Europe.

'Wheelchair dancer Sander Verbeek started dancing recently, but he already knows that it will be his future. For him and Nadine Drouin of The Dutch National Ballet, TDN-choreographer Peter Leung made a new piece. Verbeek and Drouin assume corresponding posture and let their hands manipulate their other bodyparts. Subsequently a duet develops from their various perspectives.'

In 2017 SAND-R had just discovered dance and they were invited by Holland Dance Festival to work with Nationaal Ballet to create a piece showcased at DanceAble #2.
